Alfa panels

ALFA® is a high-pressure compact panel (HPL) built for strength, durability, and fire performance across a variety of exterior applications.

Core Options:

  • Standard Core: Multiple layers of kraft paper impregnated with thermosetting melamine resin.
  • ALFA-FR Core: Fiberglass-reinforced for enhanced fire resistance, tested and compliant with NFPA-285.

Surface Composition:
Each panel features an outer decorative layer made of thermosetting resin and inorganic fiber boards, pressed together with a 0.6 mm UV-resistant top layer. All layers are fused into a single compact sheet through a high-pressure, high-temperature process lasting approximately 90 minutes.

Optional Finishes:
For an additional cost, panels can be produced with a range of textured finishes—Stone, Italian Matte, or Woodgrain—adding depth, character, and tactile appeal to any architectural design.

  1. Resin Impregnation
Decorative paper and kraft paper sheets are individually impregnated with thermosetting melamine resin to enhance strength and stability.
  2. Drying & Curing
The resin-saturated sheets are dried using controlled heat, partially curing the resin to prepare them for lamination.
  3. Core Selection & Layer Assembly
The resin-treated sheets are stacked into a precise laminate configuration based on the panel type:
    • Standard Panels use multiple layers of kraft paper as the core.
    • ALFA-FR Panels incorporate a fiberglass-reinforced core for enhanced fire performance (NFPA-285 compliant).
Decorative surfaces and overlay sheets are added to both faces of the core.
  1. High-Pressure Lamination
The entire stack is subjected to high pressure and temperature for approximately 90 minutes. This fully cures the resin and permanently bonds the layers into a single, dense composite panel.
  2. Trimming
The cured panels are precision-trimmed to specified dimensions.
  3. Surface Finishing (Optional)
Panels may undergo sanding, polishing, or additional treatment to create premium finishes. Optional textures include Stone, Italian Matte, and Woodgrain—available at an added cost.
  4. UV Film Application
A UV-resistant film (0.6 mm) is applied to both panel surfaces to provide long-term protection against fading, weathering, and discoloration.
  5. Quality Inspection
Each panel is rigorously inspected to ensure compliance with visual, dimensional, and performance standards.
  6. Packaging & Dispatch
Approved panels are carefully packaged and prepared for delivery, ensuring safe transport to distribution partners or project sites.

For more information about special project colors, please contact us.

  • ALFA (Standard): Constructed with a kraft paper-based core and rated Class B for fire resistance.
  • ALFA-FR: Uses a fiberglass-reinforced core and is NFPA-285 tested and approved for use in fire-rated assemblies.

For detailed test data and certifications, please refer to the testing documents available on our Resources page.

We don’t have a physical showroom, but we’re happy to send samples upon request. You can also view completed ALFA installations at a few project sites in Georgia—just let us know, and we’ll share details.

ALFA panels are compatible with exposed fastener and concealed clip installation systems. While installers often fabricate subframing based on project needs, we can provide mounting components upon request.

For technical guidance, including CAD drawings, fixing details, and installation recommendations, please visit the Resources page on our website.

When using concealed clips spaced every 600 mm (approximately 24 inches), a typical installation requires 8 fixings per square meter (approx. 0.74 fixings per square foot).

However, actual fastening requirements should always be confirmed based on:

  • Local building codes
  • Wind load and structural calculations
  • Project-specific engineering recommendations

We strongly recommend consulting a licensed professional to ensure compliance with applicable standards.

We offer color-matched fasteners and gasket pads, sold separately. Mounting profiles for exposed fastener systems can be provided upon request, but must be specified with detailed dimensions.

CAD details are available on our Resources page to assist with planning.
Unless specifically requested, quotes include only panels, fasteners, and gasket pads.

ALFA panels are designed to be low-maintenance and easy to clean. For routine care, use warm water with a mild soap or household detergent and a soft cloth or sponge.

For tougher stains, you may use common solvents like ethanol or isopropyl alcohol with caution. However, avoid strong solvents such as MEK, toluene, or acetone, as these may damage the surface finish. Abrasive cleaners or tools should also be avoided.

When in doubt, test any cleaning solution on a small, hidden area before full application.
